Once the design is created, the jacquard cards are pierced (“cut” as it is known). These cards add to the some 2000 designs already stored, representing a unique archive of the creativity of this company.
Placed on the loom, these cards enable the most complex of designs to be woven…
Rosettes, tie-backs, fringes, pompons and other ornamentation are still made by hand by highly skilled workmen and women who are passionate about this ancient craft.
The annual Collection, launched each January, brings together and presents as a cohesive whole, the wide range of products prepared in this way – an invaluable tool for our clients ; decorators, architects, upholsterers ...
But still the knowledge and the desire lives on at Passementeries de l’Ile de France to dye for you a special colour of silk, to design a new style of braid and to weave up ten metres…totally unique…
